18 Bids so far, Somebody is going to get taken!

For an old collector, it is easy to see that is a fake. But it won't pull new collectors with so many fakes, often much better thant this indhu production..

    Finally complete

Congratulations ! I tried too to find Wappen which fits to an helmet and that's not easy. So when the wappen is scarce, it is more difficult. I like the writing inside, showing that this helmet was took by a US soldier.

    Almost....

The presence of a regimental marking was a advantage. The chinstrap seems good for me. For the kokade, less easy to be sure. The M15 is not much sought after which explains that even nice M15 can be sold at low prices

    New War Bond photo

Hello A very nice picture. I would be interested to know if we can see helmets of JR 115/RBA18 of FAR44. These two types of helmets are too much common currently in USA and the only explication is that they were in the famous helmets taken in Germany for the war bonds.

    7. Thüringisches Inf.-Regt. Nr. 96 III Btl.

Thanks, I never studied the grommets of M91/95 but the comparison is clear. Has the JR 96 helmet still the sewing of the leather under the Hinterschiene ?

    7. Thüringisches Inf.-Regt. Nr. 96 III Btl.

Thanks for the specification about the Landeskokarde because I noticed too that the pictures of the Soisson auction show a helmet with a different Kokarde. The lack of the genuine Kokarde, very hard to find, explains the final price at the auction. It is a real challenge to manage to draw...

    7. Thüringisches Inf.-Regt. Nr. 96 III Btl.

Very nice helmets, very scare to see together. I have a classic prussian helmet M 1891 which was too modernized in M 1895. In its cas too, the grommets which were put create a kind of weakness of the leather. I will put a picture when I have time.
