    German Mauser M98 1916

I am very interested in this rifle. I used to own one, bought it after I got a tip at Ypres, who gave me the address to the people who had it for sale. It wasn't deactivated at all, and at the low cost the people wanted for it, I bought it. Unfortunately, later I sold it to a guy who had several...

Purchased helmet at estate sale. Is it authentic?

Welcome here! This is an original Prussian Model 1915 helmet, M15, so it is authentic. Unfortunately, it has been polished to much, most of the fieldgray is gone on the wappen (the plate on the front) and several other places. Then again, it is a genuine ww1 german pickelhaube. The skirt on the...

    Some German WW1 Items

Cats can be very humorous sometimes Johan, things these guy's do makes you laugh. I have 4 of them. Sometimes they make you laugh, and sometimes they irritate you, because they want their food, and NOW! I've had cat's since I grew up, so I know the things they do quite well. I'm a cat guy, so I...

What am I supposed to make of that?

Persinally, I think that would be a good idea, to warn new members from losing lot's of cash. When I started collecting them, I got burned too, had 2 hauben, but both were not correct too, some parts were good, but they were a mix of good parts, and rubbish ones. Regards, Coert.

    M15 Württemberg OR Pickelhaube

A very nice Wurttemberg M15 JohnS3rd, I also have one in my collection, I bought it from @ww1czechlegion, several years ago. These are not so easy to find, in fact quite rare. Nice grouping of M15's you have there! Regards, Coert.

Yes, I also buy sometimes there, not now though, as I already have those 2 Larcade volumes in my reference book collection, bought them several years ago.

Great! So you also restore helmets, and do the stitching work on the visors? That is quite a difficult thing to do, I presume. Some members here do that too, thankfully none of mine needed that. Best regards, Coert.

I fully agree with you Peter, for me, being a Dutch member, the German language, or the French language isn't a problem at all. As I come from a German heritage, and also had a French girlfriend, it is no problem at all. Most European's also had those languages to learn at school, at least, I...
