Backside of a m1843 cast wappen

Very nice. That is a two piece casting (top and bottom), with the Bandeau added after 1860.

Backside of a m1843 cast wappen

Here is an a Preussen sand-casted Adler adopted in 1842. This is the type of Adler with the large head and Schwarzenegger arms. This helmet eagle has been sand-cast so it lacks cut and file marks on the edges. The muted detail is not even close to the later die-stamped eagles. This Adler has...

Advice on Saxon Guard project helmet.

8.JzP wore a gilt eagle on black Metalhelm with Tombak fittings including chinscales. The Dragoner eagle wasn’t Tombak. More Please excuse the shameless plug but I am looking for a JzP with silver fittings.

Newest Helmet - 16th Century Cabasset

That is COOL! Way to go Peter. An actual 1500s Cabasset. What’s it like as an historian/author to hold a 500+ year old helmet?

    Silver Garde Enlisted

Very nice helmet. I have had a few Garde Adler where the Garde star seem to be brass. Possibly a slightly lower amount of tin in the mix? Inside it looks brass, outside like Neusilber. So yes you could replace it, but it could be the original that has aged and the brass is predominant? I let...

Felt Ersatz coupled with an Introduction

Hi Alex. Very nice helmet and Überzug. Well done. Perhaps some one on our Forum has an untouched M1915 spike to sell you. That shouldn’t be difficult to find. The Überzug is just the perfect condition; worn but not trashed.

We can’t keep up with this James. Hopefully Joel will see this and what we actually need is the ability to delete and ban as Moderators with one button. Not nine. By the time we do that another Spam machine has shown up. Thanks everybody who puts a reply in this thread but I assure you that we...

    M1915 enlisted feldgrau Hussar

Otto that is the near-mint Pelzmtüze I obtained from you. You drove it up to NB on a visit. Special delivery. Wonderful example once Cypher and bits were added. As you said no missing hair. Thank you very much again for that.

    M1915 enlisted feldgrau Hussar

How cool is that to see the strips of hide! All these years later and there is the animal’s skin. Look at all the effort to make one. So many stitches by hand.

    Württemberg nut harvesting project

Kenny you could sell those here. Many members here could use several. Copies are discouraged, perhaps to make it fair for collectors in future years, a tiny stamp perhaps to identify them as copies? Like a tiny K or something?
