My apologies, Tony is right. 50% (leather, natural fabrics) up to a max of 60% (wooden furniture, hide glues) for organic materials.

I think I’m right in saying that a humidity of around 65% is what we’re looking to maintain in the room where our collections are displayed. Below 60% items begin to dry out and above 70% encourages mould growth. So if in the UK, turn your radiator thermostat down and place a bowl of water in...

A little heat from a hair dryer may soften the glue as would hot water since, if original, it will be animal based, but I'm you're on to that one already.
