13 UR Reservists Photos

Great photo, must have taken quite some time to set up the background. Interesting that the NCO lance pennants are mounted upside down on the lances. Just caught the reservist pipes also mounted on the brick facade. Wow!
 
This is my favorite regiment.I know that I have already shown a ulanka,but I will show again.Congratulations on the exhibit.

A future general officer in the 1899 group. The squadron commander is Jobst Freiherr Knigge (1861-1928) who spent most of his earlier career in Ulanen-Regiment Nr. 13. Entering as a Fahnenjunker on 1 April 1881 and rising to the rank of major on 18 May 1907. He had a brief interlude as the commandant of the headquarters of the expeditionary force to China in 1900/01. Eventually leaving the regiment, he assumed command of Grenadier-Regiment zu Pferde Nr. 3 on 18 February 1913 followed by his promotion to Oberstleutnant on 1 October 13. He deployed with his regiment at mobilization and was promoted to Oberst on 27 January 1916. He further commanded Landwehr-Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 4 and the 1. Garde-Kavallerie-Brigade and retired with brevet as a Generalmajor on 8 May 1918.
