Last week-end I and my wife went around loocking for street market. We found one in Montagnana, a small medieval town in the country of Padua, near Venice in north Italy. The location is really fine and the sunny day make all so beautiful
Some pictures of this wonderful day.20230618_101121.jpg

The small town is on a squared base an copletely fortified with high walls and towers. To enter there are four heavy doors on the four cardinal points with double walls an drawbridges. The moat that once surrouded the whole town is now a public garden with greenery and flowers.

Beautiful tour Zeb.It's fun to watch. My favorite place is the ancient city of Ephesus, but visited off the tourist trail.I've been there several times, and my most precious souvenir is this coin found next to the baths.Unfortunately no one is able to help me identify it.

Yes Zeb I found it by the bathhouse near the port road, where archaeological research had not yet been carried out.Rain washed the coin from the ground and it was waiting for me.The photo shows the archaeological work carried out by the Austrians and the road on which the coin lay.

My real job is in the marble and granite trade.
I love looking at all stone work and your pictures brought a smile to my face.
Your coin such a find !
You are indeed a lucky guy .

Wonderful, thanks for sharing. It’s such a treat to when others share their experiences. I plan to return to Europe to a trip but the wife and I just can’t make up our minds where to visit first.
If you like history then this might interest you.Very good hotel facilities and twice as cheap as in France.
