Thank you for sharing all your photos. It would be great to have a copy of the catalogue. One question I have is that the Waldeck pickelhauben have two different wappen styles, one with the crowned shield supported by lions, and the other with the shield within a star. Just wondering if the catalogue discusses the differences.

My pleasure!
-I think this collection catalogue is only for sale in the Residenzschloß.
#1. The Muster/pattern1846 Officers Helm: the Wappen with the crowned shield held by two lions.
-Collection Inventory describes this fine helmet as the one worn by Fürst Georg Victor.
#2. The Muster 1860 Officers Helm: the 8 pointed star.

My translation from *J-L Larcade; Volume ONE page 103.

Fürstentum Waldeck-Pyrmont:
1845: The Füsilier Bn of this small State was equipped with the Pr style Mod 1842 Pickelhaube.
-Wappen: large, 8-rayed star with the coat of arms of the Fürstentum: the Star of Waldeck and the Cross of Pyrmont. -Kokarde: yellow-red-black.
-Convention dd 6 August 1867 (renewed on November 24, 1877): the Bn of Waldeck and Pyrmont was dissolved and its soldiers were integrated within the ranks of the III.Bn of the Prussian Inf Regt Nr 83 (3.Kurhessisches).
-From then on; the infantrymen of Fürstentum origin wore:-on their Prussian Linien Inf Helmet-on the left: their yellow-red-black Kokarde of Waldeck-Pyrmont and the Prussian Kokarde on the right.
-From 22 March 1897 on: the complete III. Bn of Regt Nr 83 will wear the Waldeck-Pyrmont Kokarde on the left; the Reichs Kokarde on the right.
Reserve and LW:
Wappen: Pr LW-Adler; However, with "für Fuerst" in the motto on the LW-Kreuz.
-1914: Friedrich von Waldeck-Pyrmont was the Sovereign of this small Fürstentum since 1893. August 1914: Mobilmachung: Res and LW-Männer of this small State then formed the I.Bn of Res Regt Nr 83 and a part of the Landwehr Regt Nr 83.

-Helmets for the Flügeladjutanten to the Fürsten of Waldeck -Pyrmont: -Before 1867: the Offz wore no special uniform. -From 1867 until 1883 they wore the Offz uniform and Offz helmet of the III. Bn of Inf Regt Nr 83. -From 20 May 1883 on they wore the Pr generals helmet: all fittings silvered. -Wappen: big Pr Garde Adler; on the breast an 8-rayed, black-enameled star-Schwarzer Stern von Waldeck-with in the centre, in a white circle, the Red Cross of Pyrmont. -Haarbusch: white horsehair. [probably Yack]

Remark: *no mention here on the Muster/pattern1846 Officers Helm: the Wappen with the crowned shield held by two lions as in the castle residence collection cataloge: both the Officers and Mannsch patterns are shown....

Sir, this picture has greatly attracted my attention, may I ask if you still have a close-up photo of this uniform?
-the best possible pics I tried. But you always have the glass.
-there is a nice pic in the collection catalogue....It is the uniform and Helm of Flügeladjutant Oberstleutnant Carl Frhr v. Grass (1862-1936).
1906: as Hauptmann he became Flügeladjutant to Fürst Friedrich. Promoted to Major and officially appointed Flügeladjutant. Retiring in the rank of Oberst in December 1918.

But.. the best is yet to come...

-check the Verlag Militaria book "Adjutanten und Haustruppen" pages 210-216.
Absolutely stunning.

👍Thank you very much for the information, it will be very helpful for my future.
The reason for saying this is that I don't have any books on VM.🤨
Yes, I am a pure electronic data researcher, at least for now.😂

I agree, I have still some of their books to buy, but it will be fine by Christmas, as then my bankaccount gets a good bit higher. Bonusses from work etcetera. :geek:

I had a friend ask me about their excellent two-volume set on the Iron Cross which has been sold out a bit. He asked me what it cost when I bought mine when it was released and said he found one for sale for $1200 bucks.

Needless to say, I almost fell out of my chair.
