Basket Case Felt

Hey Guys,

Here is my latest challange.
I actually got this felt from a forum member.
When done it will be a gray Prussian Arty
The large rips in the back have been there a while , so long that the edges of the tears have actually rubbed together that the edges are rounded.
This unfortunatly made for a large join.
Perhaps I should have sanded them square to make a better joint but it is too late now.

I blocked it for a couple of months and these next pics show the rough repairs

This side had a piece missing.

I have 2 doner helmets that are unrepairable but I am able to use parts off of them.

Here is the other side with the tear glues together.

Almost done

Some paint touch up and almost good as new.

Best of luck! I think I recognize this particular felt haube
There was one almost as bad on ebay a few weeks back with a welded together spike !!! .
The guy originally wanted $600 I offerd $100 but it sold for $150
This came from a board member.

A friend of mine originally bought this one with a lot of project haubes which is where my M15 wurrtemberg came from and it originally had M95 infantry fittings. I think I can still get pictures of it in its previous state if you'd like.

Sure !
Please do so

Thanks guys for the kind remarks.

These are the photos of its original configuration.
The plate was likely replaced as well as the cockade but the rest of the hardware was original to the helmet.

Thanks Naprawiacz
I am trying to gather the parts .
I have a front plate
Finding a rear spine is proving to be problematic.
If I can get through with my storm damage on my house due to Ida hopefully I can get the gray kubel .

Excellent job Mathew, I wish one of my M15 spines had fit this piece to help complete it.
