Offered for sale is a Bavarian enlisted Shako with Neusilber trim.

This type of shako would have been worn by any of the following units:

1.) 1st or 2nd Bavarian Telegraph Batallion

2.) Bavarian Luftschiffer Batallion

3.) Bavarian Flieger Batallion

4.) Bavarian Kraftfahrer Batallion

Nicely marked inside: 1913. Oval maker mark which I cannot read the maker name. "B.A. I / 1918" in rectangular shape square. "55" size marking.

Liner is intact and supple. Front visor has crazing to the black finish, as seen in photos.

There are two small holes on the back visor, located near the bottom center edge area, as seen in photos. I am guessing that this shako may have been nailed to some sort of display.

There is white colored wire wrapped several times around the two original wire loops for the wappen, which secures the wappen to the shako. The friend I purchased this shako from told me he found it this way when he was doing advertised buys in Belgium, many years ago when he lived in Europe.

Modern era replica Bavarian feldzeichen included with shako.

No chinstrap or National kokarde. Helmet is being sold as I acquired it.

Price: $900 or "Best Offer" + Postage.

Payment via PayPal is o.k. I prefer "friends and family"

USA Postage: $20 for Priority Mail with Tracking.

Canada Postage: $35 for 1st Class International Mail Package with Tracking.

Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, UK Postage: $50 for 1st Class International Mail Package with Tracking.

Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore Postage: $60 for 1st Class International Mail Package with Tracking.

Thanks,

Alan

Any interest here in this shako?

Any offers?

Any feedback?

Surely someone here would like to add this shako to their collection.

Best Wishes,

Any interest and/or offer from anyone here for this hard to find Bavarian shako with neusilber fittings?

Thanks,

Alan

To this list are added the rare Bavarian radio operators to converse (wirelessly) with the Zeppelins.😍

$700 + Postage. Same payment terms as above. I can do a layaway plan if anyone should need one.

Is anyone here interested?

I have extensive experience shipping outside of the USA with Zero Problems. I also know how to fill out the Customs Paperwork properly in order to save the buyer a lot of money on Import/Customs Tax Fees.

Best Wishes,

Alan

$650 or "Best Offer".

Same terms as above.

Surely there must be someone here on this forum who has an interest in adding this nice Bavarian Shako to their collection?

Best Wishes,

Alan

505 views, with Zero Interest here.

I honestly thought someone would want this very hard to find Bavarian shako. I guess that I was wrong.

It seems that nobody wants it, no matter what price I can lower it to.

Hi. The price is good, but I will have high customs fees.
And so does everybody else who buy's a helmet, or other items from the US and has an adress in the EU or elsewhere.
You cannot expect Alan, or anybody else who sells an item to you to pay up for it, or lower their price.

Now there are 662 looks.

$600 + Postage.

Best Wishes,

Alan
Hi Alan,

I’m decently interested in the helmet, however the one thing I’m hung up on is the price of the parts needed to rebuild it, particularly the Kokarden (please excuse my lack of knowledge). Would these be expensive/hard-to-find or fairly trivial to replace?

Thanks in advance,

Max

My Russian ain't that good, but it's sounds like a kick in the b....
I mean, $600 is already very cheap if you're looking for one...isn't it ?

Thank you.
Yes, I personally think that $600 is very reasonable for a Bavarian Shako with Neusilber trim. How often has anyone seen one of these for sale? Weitze has had one or two over the years, and they were expensive.

Hi. The price is good, but I will have high customs fees.

From my many years of experience with filling out Customs Forms paperwork, my buyers have normally had to pay very little to no customs fees upon receipt of the helmets that I have shipped to Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, etcetera.

There is an International Postal and Customs code number that needs to be included on the customs form, declaring that the item is a historical object over 100 years old and this is supposed to prove that the item is not supposed to be charged any customs tax upon entry into these European countries that I have shipped to many times over many years. Some of you here realize this and have actually had to pay very little customs tax upon receipt of the helmets that I have sold you over the years. Some customers here have had to pay nothing in customs tax upon receiving a helmet they have purchased from me.

Best Wishes,

Alan
