Offered for sale is a Bavarian enlisted Shako with Neusilber trim.
This type of shako would have been worn by any of the following units:
1.) 1st or 2nd Bavarian Telegraph Batallion
2.) Bavarian Luftschiffer Batallion
3.) Bavarian Flieger Batallion
4.) Bavarian Kraftfahrer Batallion
Nicely marked inside: 1913. Oval maker mark which I cannot read the maker name. "B.A. I / 1918" in rectangular shape square. "55" size marking.
Liner is intact and supple. Front visor has crazing to the black finish, as seen in photos.
There are two small holes on the back visor, located near the bottom center edge area, as seen in photos. I am guessing that this shako may have been nailed to some sort of display.
There is white colored wire wrapped several times around the two original wire loops for the wappen, which secures the wappen to the shako. The friend I purchased this shako from told me he found it this way when he was doing advertised buys in Belgium, many years ago when he lived in Europe.
Modern era replica Bavarian feldzeichen included with shako.
No chinstrap or National kokarde. Helmet is being sold as I acquired it.
Price: $900 or "Best Offer" + Postage.
Payment via PayPal is o.k. I prefer "friends and family"
USA Postage: $20 for Priority Mail with Tracking.
Canada Postage: $35 for 1st Class International Mail Package with Tracking.
Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, UK Postage: $50 for 1st Class International Mail Package with Tracking.
Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore Postage: $60 for 1st Class International Mail Package with Tracking.
Thanks,
Alan
