Bavarian Pickelhaube restoration

I used WW2 linen thread that I coated in wax to attach the brims for this Bavarian Landser helmet. Here are some before and after images.

Very nice restoration Paul! It looks perfectly now, I for one am not that capable to do this kind of work on a haube like it was when you started your work.

Re-stitching both visors is a lot of tedious work. How many times did you poke your fingers with the needle? :giggle:
 
Thanks all. The work was a bit tedious and I certainly poked my fingers a few times. This was my first Pickelhaube and it came from “out of the woodwork.” It deserved my focus and attention. I am very happy with it.
