Bored on a Sunday night and thought I would share...

Nooo… I’m afraid you owe your son a refund. There are many negatives, but a quick check is Bandeau pebbling. For any Wappen. On originals you can count them they are so perfect. Or on this one, lack of pebbling. Muted. Unfortunately a sure sign of a replica. A beautiful Reserve of Landwehr officer helmet that has been bitched-up with that IR92 Totenkopf. Only my humble opinion.

Thomas we are not an auction. Sell it, great. With a set price please. Thank you.

I agree 100 % I don't like the I R 92 part at all
but I didn't want to say anything, sine the owner was not asking.
However, you are a panel member and doing your correct duty
thanks for the post

Thank You. I appreciate your observation and comment. I was convinced that this helmet was all original, but unfortunately I was wrong. My son will probably be more disappointed than me, but I will offer him another helmet instead. I will withdraw the helmet and not sell it as an original.
My father bought more than 200 helmets (and a lot of other militaria) in the period 1960-2010 so it’s inevitably that he was not being fooled a few times.
To any potential interested buyers; please accept my apologies.

Thomas
