Since HW is offering the helmet it must be the rarest of all….I would also like to differ with Helmut Weitze or the staff member
who writes up his descriptions.
Ref ; The D R 3 / G zu P R # 3
written up as " The rarest of all the cavalry helmets "
well it is as always a matter of opinion but I think
an officers helmet for the 1 L K R 1 after the eagle change
is also rare .What do the members think ?
Steve
I concur, Steve. Let alone LHR and a few others, which are also often prettier than DR3...I would also like to differ with Helmut Weitze or the staff member

Hello GardeUianThis DR 3 helmet had been on the market since at least June before it came to HW.
I had the helmet in my hand and I didn't like the lacquer. Just my opinion.
Best wishes

You are correct BrunoI concur, Steve. Let alone LHR and a few others, which are also often prettier than DR3...
It is also the first time I observe such febrility about this model. It is a great and very rare one for sure, but as far as I can remember the few that came for sale earlier (at Kube Auktionen for instance) fetched high, but not crazy prices. In short, I perceive some excessiveness in this ad...
I think that what HW and I are saying is how often does a helmet fromNot to sound like a broken record but I would have to say everyone here is correct I would hardly call that the rarest of all cavalry helmets especially if you start to take into account helmets that have royals cyphers in the liners.
Fair point but its still just meant to highlight that saying its the rarest of all cavalry helmets is quite a generous statement. I believe you and I were having a small discussion on a different post that issued DR. 25 helmets are almost non existent to the point that only one has been seen on the open market in how many years?I think that what HW and I are saying is how often does a helmet from
one certain regiment appear for sale .
Surely a helmet to a Royal person would put it into a different class.
Steve
Also if we want to talk about Dragoon officers helmetsFair point but its still just meant to highlight that saying its the rarest of all cavalry helmets is quite a generous statement.
