No! [-X Kids were well educated back then!! =D>

Well disciplined, perhaps, but not as well educated... The building is gone, it's now a school. Hauptschule, Gymnasium, who knows. :( OR it might be a government building of some sort, since as I drove my 'google guy' around, parts of the building were censored! However, it's says it's a car-sharing business and kindergarten. Near the Berlin Gallery. They must have taken the photos during the world cup of similar, a lot of German flags on the cars! :) TOR! TOR!

Fascinating pieces. This is an example of why this forum is so wonderful. Where else would you ever see such a unique helmet? I doubt many museums even have one.

Hi Markgraf

Do you still have your Danish Kürassier helmet? :)

Doc

Doc: The helmet is the collection of the museum, where I'm working :) Why?

Has it been conserved (cleaned) since you took the photos?

:D Ron

Ron: Hopefully I can show it the helmet in his full glory in this year yet.

Something about the helmet:

This is the personal helmet of Frederick VII of Denmark. Nearly the same, except the front plate (and the helm-piece itself was made from lightweight aluminium plate - everything for His Majest's comfort  )

I can't find any written source about this type of danish helmet. According this drawing however it is a parade helmet for the generals of the Danish army.

Markgraf, Were you ever able to restore this helmet. According to the following web-site it was worn by generals of cavalry during the first Schleswig Holstein War 1848-1851. The better known example was made for King Frederick VII and is unique in shape and the fact that it was made of aluminum.
