Dutch M1894 Colonial Spikehelmet for Cavalerie Officiers

Schiavona13: What can I say? Superb! :thumb up: Thank You Very Much! :bravo:

I try to search something about his Austro-Hungarian Army* career.

Probably the next week - I need some time in the archives and the library. :study:

* At this time it seems that he served in the Royal Hungarian Army - at least I can't find any trace in the AH Army officers registry.

I found another press photo:

L-R: Capt. Lindgreen, Lt. Van der Plank, Dr. Ujlaki.

No any trace in the officers registry. Neither in the Austro-Hungarian Army nor Royal Hungarian Army. It seems he served as conscripted enlisted or NCO.

Maybe in the Vienna Military Archives... :-k

Is in the KNIL documents his exact birthdate/place? His death certificate is only his age (74) at the time of his death.

My work got a hold of me so my free time was limited :(

The record I have indiquate that he was born in 1852 .

Will try to find more this weekend

I just picked up this helmet to the Princess Irene Regiment at the OVMS Show on Friday. It is probably from the late 1960s or 1970s, so it isn't that old but the price was right.
