Ersatz helmet from SOS

I was pleasantly surprised today as the lost parcel from SOS 2024 turned up at my door step. USPS had announced it lost last week and I was all prepared for the worst.

This is one of the helmets in the box. Alan sold this to me after much persuasion. He took it to the show to show lol and I just love the look of it. I added the cockade and chinstrap to make it complete.

I really love it, that liner is in extremely good condition those tend to get very brittle and damaged.

Wow!! I never saw that on or under Alan's table and he never showed it to me. That is an excellent example and I have never see an "oil cloth" feldgrau liner before, very rare! I have a Prussian felt with a similar black liner in my collection but yours is completely new to me. Congratulations Amy!

The flower doesn't get erased away on that pic lol. Yes I was indeed very lucky. They're was 3 complete helmets inside that box and a garde officer body.

Yes the liner is something new to me. More of oil cloth feel.

Brian, he hid it under his table. You have to persuade him by looking into his eyes to show you what he has under the table. He has another pioneer helmet under his table. So remember, look right into his eyes and give him that I WANT HELMETS smile and blink your eyes , make sure you have double eyelids cos i have.
