Feldgrau Ulanka and Uberrock identified to the estate of Oblt. d. R. Bogislaw von Ramin

As promised here are the photos of items identified to the estate of von Ramin. I am hesitant to say that the ulanka was actually owned by von Ramin. While it was sold as being from his estate, it lacks a laundry or owners mark. It could have been his or a family members. It could have been purchased by the family to display with other items. We can never be sure. For me, I personally see it as a mint and fantastic feldgrau ulanka for an officer from the 14th Uhlan. Now, the uberrock on the other hand, I have no doubt that this was once owned and worn by von Ramin. To me the owners label is undeniable proof. Full Disclosure: The tschapka is NOT von Ramin's. It is to pre war set that I have previously posted in the forum.

Very nice items from the Kube auction .
A collector friend of mine , Mike H. also bought
2 of his uniforms from the Kube auction
A great set of uniforms
Steve

what a beautiful uniform and Tschapka,

I a very fond of cavalry headgear and Tschapka and klanka's specifically, so like Charles said above, I looked at those uniforms a few times!
(like many here especially the fieldgrey variant catches my attention, but the dunkelblau one is also a beauty)

(I can't really get used to that extremely vivid shade of pink for a uniform, I know it is specific for that regiment, it is the same as the colour on the one Steve showed on the forum before, but the shade of your rabatte seems a bit darker, I have a cap and a dunkelblau unlanka of that regiment and think these have a bit less colorful variant of pink, so maybe there where different shades of pink available, or mine is just faded by age...) maybe I can make some Photographs upcoming days for comparison).

Yes , let's see photos when you can.
As some of you know , I am also a shoulder strap collector
If I like a regiment , I sometimes get more than one example
There were quite a few different tailors who made uniforms
for the officers .Different lots of material produced different shades
of fabric for the straps
This is what we see.

as promised today I photographed my ulanka and cap, but alas, too late to profit from natural daylight, so in artificial light...
also will add photo's of tschapka's EM and officer (see difference in plates, the EM plate is regular prussian officer with bandeaus soldered to it whereas the officer one in in one piece), can/t show backside as is not in the house I'm in now.

I will try to make new photo's in daylight tomorrow

as stated the crimson seems less extremely pink than in the Ramin example,
as Naprawiacz stated correctly it is crimson,

I'm not sure the rabattte on the Pickelhaube is crimson, and I can't compare the two colors because ulanka and Tschapka are 200 miles apart (holiday home and regular home), very much like my EM UR14 Tschapka as it is a kammerstuck with nice markings (can't show is in other house)
It has been snowing by the way here in the ardennes, giving this season between christmas en newyear a nice atmosphere

best wishes for 2025 to you all!!, espcillaly to Zeb who stated 2024 was horrible... may 2025 be a lot better for you and your loved ones!

best wishes!!

For U R 14 I think that the enlisted rabatte could be a darker color than the officer
but this one looks too much of a darker red ?
The other colors look correct to me '

as I just showed you my EM and officer Tschapka, and Ulanka UR 14,
I would like to add a story,

The officer I acquired 20 yeas ago and paid for it, but the EM was a bargain, with a special story...
in april 2013, one of my (now adult) girls was climbing as a hobby,
as we have our holiday home in the Ardennes we decided to go on a climbing weekend with some " climbing" friends and their children,
But it was also the big show in Ciney, so had to combine roles as father collector, but also host for climbing friends, Cook ...

so I remember drinking a lot of beer the night before with friends, then going to the rocks for climbing with friends and children all in the climbing gear and being part of the climbing club, But then... had to confess I would later join them after a small detour to the big militaria show Ciney,
So I rushed in an looked for something nice to score quickly, before joining my friends again,
This was one of the best pick-ups ever, (bought from sander one of the forum members),
I scored the UR 14 EM Tschapka, without Feldziechen or chinscales, and with a sunken in top...( looked like an elephant trampled on it...) but being a nice original kammerstuck, with nice very rare wappen and stamps, ... Sander said, you are out of your mind if you don't buy this one, and he was right,
So went back to my friends with a very quickly acquired trophy, and made up a special climbing helmet for the occasion,
I really put a lot of effort in restoring the poor cripple Tschapka, first of all I managed to but the top back in position (being sunken in)
Later added the rabatte, chinscales, feldziechen, but still was on of the best bargains in my collectors life (apart from the very undervalued " casque reine Elisabeth", a KUK kappe for peanuts, etc.), we all have our stories of great wins, and like to be silent on our big mistakes...
later found the ulanka of UR 14,
so this is me 10 years ago with a very special pickel climbing with friends

John, it appears that Obltn. von Ramin purchased the two Uberrocks just days apart. I bought the other one in the auction and it has the tailor tag as well from the same company in Berlin. Mine is dated 11 June 1912. I do like these uniforms. The colors are magnificent.
