Hi Matthew

Sent you email but it stayed in my outbox and refused to depart lol

Nice collection. The field Badge on garde shako looks wrong on material so would appreciate pics of the back of the field Badge.

95 reserve - Reserve cross doesn't seem correct. Sorry guys correct me if I am wrong. To me if the centre has the four holes punched out, the cross is usually pressed onto it without the prongs.
Your 1655 garde-with the KBAG stamping, does it fix a garde plate with silver star burst?
Unique chinstrap on the bavarian, they are either sewn or riveted and never both, why would the German do it both?

I have a pic of the back of the field badge already. I tried to pull it out but the helmet is holding it firm .
The reserve plate is how I got it
The 1655 plate has been on the helmet for a long time causing marks on the helmet
The chin strap is definatly unique , that is the reason I took pics of it . That being said perhaps the CS is rare and worth more than the helmet !!!

These will go on ebay .
I put them up so members can have first dibs.

I agree. JR46 and RJR46 were prussian units of the V AK (Silesian) and for the units in this AK, the Reserve Cross always had the word KOENIG and never FUERST...And such FUERST Reserve crosses were never fixed on the eagles chest [-X Always on the eagles legs!
It seems that this eagle wore another reserve cross on the bottom (two holes in the eagles legs).
I do not believe that this eagle is belonging to this helmet. I am thinking this was a Reserve plate for a small duchy with a special Wappen in the middle of the eagle and a Fürst Reserve cross under this Wappen. Exactly like this example in my collection, a JR94 /RJR94 helmet:

Such standard prussian reserve eagles without scroll were used, with already 4 punched out holes but without solder in them (no need for such small duchies reserve units to solder a KOENIG Reserve cross on the chest), because the two screws of the duchy wappen had to be fixed individually through enlargment of one of these holes or / and even through additional hole, so the wappen is sitting perfectly in the middle of the eagle. The FUERST Reserve cross was then fixed at the bottom through two small holes, just like this.

I unfortunately see some other red flags on the other helmets too 8-[

Well I tell you guys.
These helmets are up for sale not up to be critiqued .
They are what they are .
All in great shape .
Also the reserve helmet I am selling as a reserve .
If the plate belongs on a smaller state helmet that means it is a rare plate and that is a bonus.
I am not trying to hide anything the pictures tell all.

Matthew, chill out mate. We are just learning from each other through pictures of haubes.
As what you have said, we did discover a bonus for you which is that rare reserve plate.
Sometimes we have no intention to hide anything but we may not be correct in our description, so sharing and learning from each other is the best way to acquire knowledge.
Sorry to have you feel upset about it.

Well argumented critique has always been the best way to learn.
Each of us already made mistakes by purchasing a helmet.
It´s legit to praise a good untouched helmet and it´s also fair and normal to criticize some "problems". That´s the way it goes on a forum where we have to learn and help each other.
It would be hypocrite to praise something wrong and not fair to remain silent...
Only my two cents.

I sold my reserve helmet on ebay for around $480 to a guy in France .
He changed the plate to a standard reserve and it sold on the French ebay for over $800.

Ha Ha! I know him well...

This is exactly why I tell folks to not buy on eBay unless they know exactly what they are doing. And we know most why buy there do not know what they are doing.

"I am not trying to hide anything the pictures tell all."

That is a despicable statement! If you know something is wrong with an item, and if you don't mention it, then you are trying to hide something. Expecting someone to tell from the photos what is wrong when they don't have the skill set is disingenuous. That is what all the fraudsters do on eBay.

Something up for sale on any forum should be challenged by ALL when there is something wrong. To get pissy about it reflects poor character.

The fact that this forum tolerates this conduct does not speak well for the forum. On WAF I have kicked off dozens of folks for this behaviour.

I guess that is why this forum is where it is right now...

So do I :D :-({|= =;

I saw this helmet on ebay.fr again too and that the new seller changed the Wappen. I decided to take contact with him via ebay because he wrote:" helmets which were directly dispatched in a reserve unit are very rare"...That is a true thing, such helmets are scarce, as those which were directly dispatched in a Landwehr unit, but in this special case, he omitted to take a pict of the white "R46" active unit stamp placed in the shell, just where the back trim is fixed :-({|= This pict would have shown too, that the fixation of back trim was broken :?
However, I must say he actualised his auction...But always beware of this seller....

LangeK your WAF is well known for its "hissy fits" amongst members and I don't need that kind of crap here. Your comment is ironic at best, when you post here that WAF is in disarray because of a lack of attention on behalf of its owner. So save your shit comments for the WAF. If you, or anyone else on the membership list has a problem with how this forum operates feel free to leave...F..k off! I have better things to do in my life than go after sleazy sellers or deal with the complaints of disgruntled buyers. The simplest solution is to remove the For Sale area and that I will gladly do. This is the second incidence of sly comments about how this forum is run. If you don't like it here, spare me your BS, I will gladly delete you or you can let your membership lapse. I could care less, I do not take shit from anyone, never have and never will. I will be at the SOS in 2020 if anyone has a problem with any of the above.

Oh? And where is the WAF right now? Shall we talk about the champagne runes cover up? I’ve seen more favoritism, ego stroking and butt kissing on the WAF than on any other forum. Maybe you can tell us what happened to the guy who had the temerity to question the champagne runes long before they were proven to be fakes? He was hounded and humiliated by the “experts” and their sycophantic supporters.

If you don’t like this forum, why are you here?
