$200 is a fair price based on what I've seen available. If I'm out of line, someone correct me please.

If this is a fake emblem, it is a very good one. For me it looks like a real M1860 officers eagle plate. The smooth feathers are probably due to excessive polishing, as the small dots that represent black paint in heraldry are still visible on the back at some spots where they are missing at the front.

The back of the wappen looks great with the original mount soldered on lead.

Thank you for your observations and professional assessments. I had wondered about this one, for those same reasons. I think I'll hang onto this item a bit longer.

I have seen hundreds of these, it is totally original and very nice to have the original brass square nuts still in place. On so many, these have been lost.
