Help with faded markings

Hello everyone new poster here. I’ve been watching some of the forums for a while and got a m1915 pickelhaube! I’ve traced it to the 183rd regiment and then sometime in 1916 when they were fighting in Russia they turned it in to 5th corps supply depot. After that it did something I can see where two stamps used to be but can’t figure out how to identify them. Any help and tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Adam,
Welcome to the forum!
I read I.R. 138, and either B.A. VI or B.A. VII. The B.A. stamp is the acceptance stamp of the Bekleidungsamt, that provided clothing and equipment to the regiments. The B.A. then issued the helmet to I.R. 138.
As I.R. 138 was based in Dieuze before the war, which was close to the front line, the Ersatz Bataillon that trained the replacement troops for the regiment was most likely moved to the rear, either to the VI. or VII. army corps region.
The round stamp is the manufacturer's mark.
Regards,
Lars

Hello,
The 138R is well known to the people of Alsace-Lorraine in the Reichsland; in 1887 it was garrisoned in Strasbourg, and from 1906 until the armistice, in Dieuze. The two Ersatz battalions were formed in Bitche and Bischwiller in 1914.
During the war, the JR138 was under the command of A.K. XXI (Saarbrücken), but here we have another B.A. which remains to be identified. I can make out VI or VII.
Is the liner black or brown?

I checked my literature ("Handbuch der Verbände und Truppen des deutschen Heeres 1914-1918", Jürgen Kraus) and that doesn't seem to be the case, locations of the Ersatz Bataillone as per Clovis' reply above.

According to "Führer durch Heer und Flotte", Friedag, 1914, A.K. XXI did not have its own Bekleidungsamt, and B.A. XV was responsible for supplying I.R. 138.
