I have the Regimental History in pdf.Looking at the list, there were 83 men killed, wounded or captured on Sept 25, 1915 in Pogost. Does anyone know if the Regiment was involved in a major action that day
Thanks!I have the Regimental History in pdf.
-Deployed dismounted. Defence of the village op Pogost. During a heavy Russian Cavalry attack the 2nd Eskadron was overrun while pulling back to the horses. Most fell, others became POW. Severe losses.
2nd and 4th Eskadron were completely routed. Regimentsgeschichte quotes these two units "now just existed by their name"...pages 151-156.
My pleasure!Thanks!
Yes they do. He was only 20 when he fell. Couldn't have been in the service too long. A familiar story for the World WarsThese have a story to tell.
