Is it original?

Hi, I ask yours help in order to understand if the pickelhaube in the pictures is one of the different original version or a sort of Frankenstein. It was given to me 20 years ago and it wasn't complete. Now I was looking in the International military antiques site for a chinstrap repro and noticed that there is not a pickelhaube like mine. Each helmet has different particular. So I'd like to have yours opinion. Thank youPickelhaube1.jpgPickelhaube5.jpgPickelhaube6.jpg

All good!
You are comparing a NCO spike to a officer.
And the chinstrap attache on yours is the so called "91" fitting.
Nothing wrong to it.

cheers
Kris

I was wrong in my first poste saying it is a officer's helmet!
The liner made me said that, but it is in fact a NCO helmet.

Some additional information.....It is an original NCO helmet but it was privately purchased, not government issued. As a result, it has an officer liner, red and green lined visors and a thinner officer style brass front visor trim. All officers had to buy their own helmets but the NCO could as well if he had the money to do so.

So, if the NCO was able to buy privately and mix components together, it is not easy (for me) to understand if it is really genuine. Thanks for the expertise. I'd like to show another pickelhaube bought by me on the '80s in Paris (Marché au Puces). This, I guess, it is not original

I‘m sorry but I have doubts with the 2nd Helmet. The back visor has been poorly repaired (the stitching is not as it should be) and if the seller didn’t tell you that as you bought it, some other parts could be replaced too. I have also doubts if the cockades are original. I can’t imagine that the cockades a Helmet-Body with such a bad shape would be so shiny.

Yes, I agree with you. In your opinion, could the cockade be a repainted original? Thank you
