Hello dear friends, what should I make of this? There are no stamps anywhere, and it apparently looks a bit too new.

Helmut Weitze has a Wachmeister for this regiment, dated 1888, on this past Friday's update.

I think I'll buy it then—although the fur hat is very expensive, but oh well, we'll see; a peaked cap would be fine too.

They are, but if you have patience, you will have one someday. I’ve searched for certain items for decades. Sometimes it’s frustrating, but most often it’s fun.

Maybe it's the photo but the lining looks much brighter than the bottom and the outside. Maybe the liner was replaced at some time over the last 125 plus years that would explain the lack of markings.

Or it could be a theater piece from 100 plus years ago. From where I'm sitting it's all speculation at this point.

It's so much better to have such items in your hands for a very close inspection. If it's cheap it always worth a chance. Nothing ventured nothing gained as they say.

My experience is that LGH items come around fairly frequently. I think it is one of the easier Hussar regiments to collect.

I just asked about the buttons; it gives me a different impression, or am I mistaken?

Normally, the button bears a number indicating the squadron.
This button is for the *Leib-Eskadron* (Life Squadron).
Congratulations.
The *Garde du Corps* used a similar button.

Thank you very much; I was already thinking of a play for a stage, so apparently it is a good piece after all. Now I just have to look for one of those head coverings of this uniform, which will be quite a bit different, but you never know what you might come across at fairs, right?
