M1915 Feldgrau enlisted man's Hussar

A couple more photos
There is a stamp on the inside top
but I can't make it out
Typical wicker frame
Thanks to Francis who has told me that the term bamboo
should not be used , as it is a wicker frame
so from now on it will be wicker
thanks

I love it! The m15 steel bandeau has always been one of my favorites!

Ps....I wouldn't leave or put it on Styrofoam though, bad for the leather...

The foam is a killer. My first helmet ever had such a halfhead inside for decades I guess... Grrrr....

Fine book on the Pelzmützen [French]
-have to check: either this book or Larcade Volume II: on the directories on the way the dyed seal fur is to be attached. The hair direction: pointing left or right...euhhh...But it really is regulated.
-excellent chapter on the Pelzmützen Totenkopf and the cloth Mützen Totenkopf as well.

Will not be simple. Rare. Sometimes in France...Then there still is a chance that they do not ship everywhere....

Hi Steve,

I'm confused you just posted a few days that you were looking to find an M15 Hussar to replace one you had sold many years back and a few days later you posted this thread saying you found one.

Did you find it in your overflow storage? ;)
Find one for sale?
Or already found one bought it and have it in hand.

I don't know how to congratulate ya.

regards John Josef

Ok I think I've got it, these pictures your posting are of the model you're looking for and not of one that you just bought.

I was getting confused when people were saying great find.

I'm sure with your contacts you will have one real soon. (y)

I guess that I did not do a very good job trying to answer your question
I own the M1915 Line enlisted Feldgrau in the photos
take another look , you will see that it is sitting next to the U R 14 Feldgrau helmet
that I also just bought
they are my "latest finds "

The fit of the kolpack is so thigh that so far I have not removed it
In the case of TonyS.'s example at the Kaiser's Bunker
His has a regt stamped into the top of the Hussar body ( H R 16 )

Hi Steve,

If they've been together for a long time they can be tricking, that steel ring can get really tight with those 4 fastener clips. I've seen guys damage them trying to separate them. You've been in this a longtime and I'm sure you will be extremely careful should you decide to have a look. I've seen several 15's with regimental stampings under the Kolpak. If they are there my guess would be the 5th.

Good luck (y) regards John Josef

Let's see if I get up the nerve

Hi Steve, I think the color is closest to Krapprot which was the color of the kolpak used by the 5th.
Yes: I would say Krapprot-Madder.

No need to try to remove as mine will not be unit marked. I would not dare to try that anyway.
