Hey all!

I've been a member for some time but haven't posted much. I figured I would kick things off by sharing some of my photo collection with you all.

I'll start with sharing images of Mecklenburgisches Grenadier-Regiment Nr.89. My Bandow ancestors left Mecklenburg-Schwerin in 1863 for a better life in America. Because of that, I have an attachment to Mecklenburg items and have plenty to share.

I have only the Mecklenburg-schwerin verdienstkreuz II klasse with ribbon, but would like to own a helmet from Mecklenburg too,
that will happen one day!

My great pleasure, Coert! The MS MVK is a beautiful medal, I'm a big fan!

I recently lucked out when I found an original Grenadier-Regiment Nr.89 Waffenrock locally. It was missing the shoulder straps, but I have sourced some. I will post it here once I get them sewn in.

very nice images. I am wondering if anyone has ever encountered a pre-war photograph of members of this regiment wearing the bearskin cap?
