I am wondering about the Überzug "213" with red numbers :-k
The RJR213 was a part of 48 reserve units which were formed October 1914. Most of them were sent to Flandern fields, as the RJR213.
2.1.2 Reserve-Infanterie-Regimenter:
In zwei großen Raten wurden im Oktober 1914 die 48 Reserve-Infanterie-Regimenter Nr.
201-248 und die 4 bayerischen Reserve-Infanterie-Regimenter Nr. 16, 17, 20 und 21 sowie
im Dezember 1914 die 24 Reserve-Infanterie-Regimenter Nr. 249-272 und die 4 bayerischen
Reserve-Infanterie-Regimenter
Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 213 (+MG.-Zug)
ℜ
Aufgestellt in Rendsburg (R.Stb., I. v. Ers.-Btl./I.R.Nr. 85), Schleswig (II. v. Ers.-Btl. /I.R.Nr.
84) und Flensburg (III. v. Ers.-Btl./Füs.R.Nr. 86). Insgesamt waren es 100 % Gediente.
Unterstellung: 46. Res.Div.
Kommandeur: Oberst z. D. Ottmer (Bez.-Kdr. Flensburg)
I.: Major a. D. v. Loefen
II.: Major z. D. Charisius (Bez.-Offz. Altona)
III.: Major z. D. v. Lüderitz (Bez.-Offz. III Hamburg)
Verluste: 2170 Offz., Uffz. und Mannschaften
This unit did not exist before October 1914. So I can not explain the fact that the numbers are red. They had to be green since the end of August 1914.
Are the numbers sewn or painted? Do you see some other markings in the Überzug (date, unit, maker mark)? Further, to my humble knowledge, there was no other "2XX" unit at the mobilisation and before the war...
