My dream....Norm Flaydermann's barn find a long time ago.

One must also remember the hourly wages were far lower for that time period when the helmet prices were low in 1970.

In 1970 in Minnesota the minimum wage ranged from $.70 to a whopping $1.15 per hour.

Here's a link to minimum wage per state via year:

I always liked I G Militaria a lot more than money
and I still do today
money comes and goes
I enjoy looking at the items , they are lasting longer than the money
Big Joe Turner had a line in one of R & B songs "Honey , Hush "
The harder I work , the faster my money goes !

God this makes me insanely jealous 😅

Makes me very worried about collecting as I grow older,

Less pieces,

Higher prices,

Inflation,

Overpricing,

More fakes,

it all makes me rather sad thinking about it, I’d give anything to find prices like that today.

this is my passion and I’d hate for it to be hindered for myself or anyone for that matter.

Thank you Steve!

One more thing about the 1970's
I remember very well when I first made contact with the "old time " collectors
I told them that I wanted to collect spike helmets .
They told me that I was crazy , it was now the "top of the market "
and if I bought now , I would never get my money back
Prices went up . I paid $250.00 for a Hessian FAR 25 officers helmet with the star
Then I bought a Hessian L I R 115 officer helmet for $ 450
so much for top of the market !
Never worry about your collection
Steve
