They have 2 Wurt Shako front plates up for auction.

Is this a mail order auction house or do you need to be there in person.

I am REALLY INTERESTED in some of the lots.

I truly would like to bid on some of the lots.

Hello

There is a mail order, it is too possible to auction in live with internet.

Careful with those. Look closely. I need a Württemberg Tschakpa and Tschako Wappen as well, and I will not be bidding.

Well the tail has a t shaped arrow head the crown has some punch through holes and the lions tounge is missing.

These can be overlooked . I think.

Unless this what you are talking about.

Heavy tarnish on the back with inconsistent gilt showing at the bottom ? Tarnish purposly done ?

What do you see that I do not see ?

Lot 300 for Train is a casting. Lot 373 for Ulanen might be ok, although that odd tarnish is not typical for a Neusilber Wappen. Of more concern no reverse image.

As already written, better take the pieces in hand before bidding and inspect them very closely....
I could have a look to this collection for a few years. Perfect pieces are already gone.
Still some good stuff, but here and there built helmets, not absolutely untouched..

For those of you who did look at the site .
What do think of lot 368 ?

what do you make of the helmet in Feldgrau

in the form of I R 115 but with an artillery ball on top ?

The ball looks for sure brass painted over with Feldgrau color
but I think at times they did do that
There are faint markings on the rear visor , but I can't make them out .
Since I can't read French , I don't know what they are saying about the helmet .
If correct it sure is interesting
worth having ever if the ball is incorrect
but how could that helmet be ?

Steve

I had it in my hands yesterday. Looks like a late production regular IR115 helmet (only BA marking present) with a brass artillery ball added. All fittings painted in greyish colour. This painting does not look professional. I would assume it was done post-war, but for what reason?? This is only my opinion though. I may be wrong.

IF all is O K
except if needs a spike
and the paint removed
it be worth a try depending on the hammer price
