Hello Gentlemen,
I have bought the helmet with this frontplate. I think I will get it till the end of the week.
However I will post more and better picts on the forum as I will have it.
I have the possibility to get my money back within two weeks when I´m not satisfied.
The hamburger dealer, Herr Ritscher, told me where this helmet come from (as far as I can believe him, but this person seems to be quite honest, as I asked him, he will also send an originality attest of this Haube together with it).
This OJR 91 officer helmet come from Herr Peter Meerbach collection. Herr Meerbach was chief restorator and curator of the Militaria-Abteilung of the Schloß Friedenstein in Gotha / Thuringia. Here is the guy:

He died in january 2011, and now the pieces of his Pickelhauben collection are going sold.
Herr Meerbach was from what I would call the "old school", was an helmet-expert, ...but he always wanted his pieces and the pieces at the Museum all to be shiny as they were worn in the past and polished them... :| (like the helmets in Fort de la Pompelle and Dresdner Museum). That´s maybe explain the gold wash around the threading posts.
OK, it was his attitude. I also prefer pieces with a lot of original patina, but however I think this helmet is original and that this frontplate has always been on this helmet. Look at the following picts of the dealer, especially the one with the ghost. On this pict, you can clearly see the absolut same outlining of the Adler and especially of this specific very hooked beak.
I also think the flashing comes from the bad quality of the picts. You can also clearly see the specific traces of the Oldenburg wappen fixing on the leather.
Here are more picts of the dealer, for the moment, till I make myself new ones.
Philippe
