Hey all, so I got my Bavarian officers helmet in the mail the other day, bad news is, USPS decided to bang around the package and dent the helmet and crack the laquer really bad in the process, is there anyone here that would be able to help with unmessing it up, I'm genuinely upset with usps with how careless they were IMG_1536.jpegIMG_1537.jpegIMG_1538.jpegIMG_1539.jpegIMG_1540.jpegIMG_1541.jpegIMG_1542.jpeg

It’s a simple repair. It all depends on where you live. If you’re in North America, shipping packages to Europe—plus customs duties—isn't cost-effective.

That's really too bad. Brian (site manager) in Canada is a master restorer. Not sure how the latest failed trade talks between the US and Canada might affect it.

Actually, it's a fairly simple repair to do. The issue is acquiring all the ingredients required to mix up a batch of the Prussian Army's Lacquer. The recipe is on the site. I think I have it written down somewhere but, it required me to source some of the ingredients from outside North America.

I have a busy day ahead of me, but I'll take a look and see if I can send it to you tomorrow.

Maybe its a good idea to look at Sandy's post several years ago, about this?
I hope this helps..

Regards, Coert.

It wasn't the Postman it was the packing! Pack ir right, nice and tight and it won't and can't wobble around in the box. I can't see a dent and are you sure the scratches were not already there. Most Pickles have some damage it's rare to find one that's mint. Nice helmet though. Rob
