Items excavated from the basement of the burned palace.I am intrigued by the middle item,I have no idea what it was used for.It has not been cleaned yet,but it is probably made of brass.Thank you very much for any information

I have seen picture frames made like these. May be for a Miniatur painting.
It is definitely wall mounted or at a plane because of the hole in the middle at the bottom. And the brackets at the middle frame, seen on the back, were to hold a centre ornament or emblem. Because of the size I could also imagine door sign or a closet sign.

Thank you beautifully for your feedback and suggestions.My first impression upon finding the item was that it was a frame for a small photo and your insights have confirmed this.Although I do not rule out Sandy's suggestion of a plaque for a cabinet,door..Greetings.
