Good morning, I'm new to this forum and to the exciting world of Pickelhaube. I ask for your opinion on this Prussian Pickelhaube, since I have studied the subject somewhat, but surely you who are experts can provide me with more information about its authenticity and parts that have been manipulated and if it is worth acquiring it. Forgive the quality of the photos, but I have no others. All the best.

Hello Juan and welcome to the Forum.
It looks like you have a M95 in a very good condition. Only the black metal disk inside is missing and the chinstrap looks like it was replaced, because normally the M91-Buttons and the metal parts of the chinstrap have the same patina.

Thanks for the reply. It has a mark, although it is not very legible. Even if the chin strap is replaced, do you think it is original?

Welcome to the forum. The leather of the strap is not genuine. It has been soaked in water and compressed to imitate old leather. The front visor is as big as in the case of a firefighter's helmet, but maybe it's the photo's fault.Regards
Wojtek

For me it looks original. But as Wojtek wrote the chinstrap seems to be a reproduction. Unfortunately I can't decipher the stamp.

Thank you very much for your answers, they help a lot to newbies in this type of helmets. Now it's time to save some money.

You have come to the right forum to get the answers all collector’s of Imperial German Pickelhaube but also German awards, uniforms, weapons and other headgear.
Welcome
John

Thank you very much for your kindness. Now I'm on vacation, but on the way back I have a Gardekorps cavalry M11 ammo pouch, with a mark that I haven't been able to decipher and I'm sure you can help me. It has several marks that I have managed to decipher but I am missing the one that indicates the Gardekorps to which it belonged.
