dear fellow collectors,
as said before I own a holliday house near the front of august 1914,
recently I encountered a Belgian individual interested in the first world war that found some relics on the battlefields of august 1914, (battle of the frontiers), the bloodiest day in french military history was august 22 1914 with 27.000 soldiers killed on a single day, in Anloy also 50 civilians were killed by the germans thus making it one of the " villages martyr" of the great war.
he collect stuff found of the battlefield of Maissin where he lives (and keeps those), but has also some relics of nearby battlefield locations
part of that battle was the battle of Anloy where the Hessian division fought, and those he agreed to sell to me for a modest sum, (although is buckle found is prussian)
so here are some battlefield relics from those bloody august 1914 days in the ardennes forests:
The plate from a field grave later discarded in the forest appeared on this site before.
(it was the lead that led me to find the owner)
hope you like them
