I saw this today on Weitze.com website. And yes he does label it correctly as a reproduction, but really? Why is a reputable seller offering a cheap Indian knock-offs (at a hight price too)?

They’ve started listing items on eBay and selling copies on their website. Either they have a new manager, or they’re running low on money.
Maybe that's the case, but, several years ago, I also heard of complaints about Weitze, selling put together helmets, I cannot however say these complaints were real. I did buy several items from him, but in my case they were all good.

Weitze has some good items but even bad too... As other sellers, for example Patina Ritscher. I bought some good items from both. But I saw some ugly things by both too...
Never trust a seller, only trust yourself and your experience based on your observations!
About part helmets in the Weitze house, yes, I know an old french collector, a real connoisseur, who has a very good and friendly connection to HW (and to S. Semino) as they all are "per du". This is no big secret. He told me that a small workshop does exist, with many spare parts...And if one always look meticulously to all his items, one can see from time to time some big patch-up-jobs that never could have existed...
But one must say: you have always the warranty to get your money back if you are not pleased...As the buyer, you are the only responsible of what you are buying. If you are not sure, let it go. When you have a single doubt, there is no doubt anymore.

Never had a problem with numerous purchases.
EM unit and Kammer marked helmets are very hard to tinker with...That´s why I only collect such Hauben.
But officer helmets can be really easily upgraded from a normal basic prussian helmet to a high valuable helmet with only a simple change of the Wappen 😦
This is almost impossible to detect that because the screws on the back of officers eagle Wappen have most of the time a similar spacing...And it is also very easy to make holes without grommets a little bit wider...
HW doesn't just sell helmets— he sometimes sells dreams, too...

And really, even with EM helmets, you have to be very careful with this kind of reassembly 🫣😱
Do you really think that HW does not see the problem here?
://bourré///:

He had here the luck, that sometimes, the spacing between the loops of bavarian and saxon Wappen are very similar...
If you are thinking you are buying here a dream in the evening, you'll wake up the next morning from a nightmare...
