Congratulations on a superb and rare helmet Steve!

Here's mine that I found a few years ago. Unfortunately the rare chinstrap and Saxon Kokarde were lost to time, as well as the National Kokarde. I still have not gotten around to cleaning my helmet. https://www.pickelhaubes.com/xf/thr...garde-reiter-wartime-helmet.14763/#post-99681

My example is marked "G.H. Osang, 1916" as well, in the top inside area near the vent hole.

Thank you, I love these helmets and keep a picture file on them even though I don't collect them. So I presume like the Garde du Corps, these Saxon units were also posted into the field. Do we know where they were stationed during the war?

Sorry , I never tried to check that out
Some collectors do and they collect along those lines
I know some who collect shoulder straps by what battles they were in
For me it is collect the helmet
sometimes in more than one form
