No double holes behind the wappen?? ( I can’t see if you made a photo of the interior behind the wappen) , otherwise looks good to me ( the wappen seems correct for an officer with the perched crown and laurel leaves)

It seems someone restored it a little a bit. The shell looks repainted, as there are rests of black paint on the emblem, the visor trim and the edge of the Saxon cockade. The Imperial cockade is not correct for this helmet, as well as the black disc inside. This is for enlisted men, not for officers, because it has longitudinal holes. I‘m also not sure about the emblem, as it looks casted at some spots.
The chinscales have the correct length, but it is kind of special, as I know those buckles mainly from cavalry helmets.

I agree with Sandy. And to my eye is looks like the center wreath isn't pierced, but rather has gold paint filling in the spots where it should have been pierced. Seems definitely to have had some work done to it...proceed with caution.

I looked again closely to the pictures, you are right in your observation: not pierced wappen but gold paint, that is really disappointing, thus a no go...

Yes clearly a "put together" helmet. If I were you, I would wait for a better one.

The shell has certainly been re-lacquered and not very well either. Too many issues to be explained or glossed over down the road when it comes time to sell it.
