The pictures caption reads:
"Two German Frontsoldiers as marksmen; around 1915. Armed with the 'Scharfschützen-Gewehr 98'. One notices the different optics and scope mounts. Next to the binoculars they were equiped with the leather scope pouch" No mention of the unit.

Great stuff: from a pistol round to the WW II Gerät 040 (60 cm Mörser/Mortar 'Karl') shell. And yes...some Pickelhauben as well ! I'll post the pics later (Musea).
A complet artillery hall and a complete floor on small arms: including a complete precision rifles history. Radio and Radar...
Another reason to go: the superb Mosel wines.
