Something fun!

Congrats James! That is a really cool item!

You'll have to show us some of the other very nice goodies that came in this huge grouping!

I'd like to see a close up of the miniature 08 Machine Gun on sled mount on the marble base. Is there a nameplate on the base, or a presentation plate on the base?

You got another nice kokarden box, with some assorted contents in it as well.

That grouping had to be the largest assembly of very nice smalls items that I've ever seen placed in one lot by any auction house. This wonderful keg was really the only "large" item in the grouping. I can imagine the box they shipped all the items in was rather large. I trust they packaged everything well for you.

Again, congrats on getting it!

Best Wishes,

Alan

James it will probably cost you more to fill it up with schnapps than what you paid for it! :D

James:

That's a really unique and fanciful item. It would be interesting to know where it was used.

In a Regimental Mess perhaps? Regardless, it's a great conversation piece.

I love such items, congratulations.Mine was found in April 2018 in a poor fishing village on the seashore. The pot was buried in March 1945 in fear of the Soviet army.Inside the pot were two jars of meat, women's gloves and a mirror.
