SOS 2020

Safely back to the condo so, time to post more photos:

James Turinetti and his offering at the Show.
IMG_1047.JPG
It took two pictures to cover this display. :)
IMG_1048.JPG
The infamous "22" also raised its ugly head at the SOS.
IMG_1049.JPG
James asked me to take a close look at this.....the liner was cut out by hand so...BOGUS! Even the shape, is not quite right. Going to the SOS gives you an opportunity to talk a wide range of dealers and collectors...the story I was told was that in the 1960's Brit haberdashers had made up these filz helmes for sale. There was also a fake filz helme with the show with the usual leather trim around the edge of the helmet, I did not bother to take a pic.

For Sergei.

Regimentals were also at the Show as usual.

A lone Prussian Infantry Officer with case.

This Saxe has been to many Shows.

Hi Arran

I have attached pic of the collector.

He is supposed to send me emails on one of his other helmets.

If he sent me an email, I will keep you informed.

Thanks Amy!

I was wrong thinking it was Sonny from New York. This seller was in the same aisle as Randy Trawnik, just up the aisle to the north of him. When I walked past this table, the seller was not there.

Best Regards,

Alan

The Show continues:

One of 2 kinder tunics bought by James. Saxe JR 103. We could have resold this a dozen times as it attracted a lot of attention.

Two cases of shoulder straps brought by a German dealer.
IMG_1060.JPG
IMG_1063.JPG
Some nice steins.
IMG_1069.JPG
A Saxe ersatz tin kit helmet purchased by James. I will let him post a longer description.

A cased Garde Infantry officer helme.

The makers label found on the inside top of the case.

The remains of a label on the outside of the case, probably with the owner's name. Lt. Schneider?? :???:

Nice haul Amy! Sorry we didn't get to meet up at the show - always next year.

No problem, Peter.

I save up for the show and I spent everything so that's just nice lol

Now I am on my way back to Los Angeles to catch my flight.

Glad to see all the guys again.

Dang, you bought more at one show than I've purchased in 50 years of collecting (well almost more). See guys, Amy being female doesn't have to explain her purchases to the wife.
