I would like to suggest the problem of increasing numbers of copies of items even in reputable auction houses.Do not underestimate this problem.Yesterday at the Dominican Fair I bought DAK cork helmet shields.A year ago in Germany the basement of the former manufacturer was dismantled and about 14,000 of these shields were found.Unfortunately during the war the building was burned down during the bombing.I selected the best states of the more than 200 that I looked at.The material is brass. The last photo shows the conservation process of soaking in ordinary water and gently wiping with a brush. After a few days the fan will shine.
Now compare the two subjects. https://www.weitze.net/militaria/06..._Adlerschild_fuer_den_Tropenhelm__470106.html

I bought over 50.000 die's in the early '90 ties along with the machinery of Indian Caps Antwerp.
Altough I came in late, lots of intersting dies disapeared, before my arrival.
Still had like 15 TR die's, among them 2 set of AK helmet shields.
I sold the machines and most TR die's to a Belgian guy living in a eastern blok land at the time.
