Stunning finish on this Jager Zu Pferde

Coert65, you are no fool; your knowledge is unquestionable. Most of us were looking at the dark finish and not the fittings. The finish does look near perfect. At first I thought it could be black paint, but I think it is is correct. Many of us would love to have that spike for our cuirassier helmet that has the standard spike. There was discussion here a few months ago about the taller spike height for jzp.

Wow, $986 is what it sold for. I really thought it would have went for more. Just change the spike and you have a perfect example!

The ebay bidding has restrictions, bidders from Singapore, maybe just one, that is me, not allowed to bid cos seller not shipping to Singapore

Congratulations on an excellent purchase!

Thanks Ron, I'll post pictures in a couple weeks. Even the chinstrap has a clear ink stamping! I was just as surprised as everyone else! I placed my best bid on the 16th and let it run and was shocked when I checked the results on the 18th. Chuck

Congratulations Chuck,

She looks a beauty; I would have given you a run for your money on this one If I didn't already have one, I'm pretty happy with.

That was a very good buy, very beautiful condition. (y)

Again Congratulations.

Just my observation as I was watching this as well. Judging by the relative corrosion on the trim and spike base it appears to be reblued and the eagle appears repainted. Hence the almost unnatural deep black color. That's just what it appears to be anyway from my perspective.
