The best of the year.

Another year has passed and I want to propose this topic again, which is still relevant.
2024 was a horrible year for me, but life goes on and we have to move on.
One of the noteworthy objects that entered the collection is certainly this ancient Baden helmet.

I'd have to say that this Bavarian Leibgarde/Pioneer OR's helmet was my favourite as the restoration is now complete with the acquisition of an original Bavarian Kokarde back in October.

For picking up four helmets in a year span, and you saying that you are no longer "Actively Collecting" anymore. 😆 :LOL: 😆:ROFLMAO: I think this is a verbal "line" we all tell our significant others or spouses; when another item arrives in the mail and you unpack your newest helmet/badge or other collectible.. ... :LOL:😉

Well, I can't say she hasn't noticed. She's an accountant so she tends to notice these things.

I bought three of them locally so the prices were quite low relative to international values. "Trust me" 😉

For anyone collecting Kaiserliche Marine items that's a Home Run!

I've been keeping an eye out for a Matrosen Division lettered Mutze which are harder to find than the Werft Division. This example is an order of magnitude beyond that.
 
This is my catch of the year is this Jäger zu Pferde EM helmet..
Big surprise when it arrived for its beautiful marked and wasn't noticed by the seller...

Here is my last purchase of 2024. The uniform jacket with epaulettes of a colonel general from the Infantry Regiment 95. I already had the helmet for it.
