The Kaiser’s Prize (Kaiserschiessabzeichen)

Kaiser Prize on a Feldgrau uniform.
Not often seen.
I need help on this one .
Someone had put an I D on the back of this card
of the regiment 3rd Baden I R Nr. 111
Maybe they were looking the shoulder strap cypher ?
I can't see it to I D it
Anyway, I don't think the soldier in the middle is in the Baden I R 111
The only Kaiser Prize won by I R 111 was in 1895
so it would not be worn on a Feldgrau uniform
Are these soldiers from a Baden regiment ?
The middleman has a band on his dress hat
Could the photo be of brothers or friends from different regiments ?
Possible Baden regiments that won the Kaiser Prize that could be worn on a Feldgrau uniform
L G R 109 =1909
I R 110 =1911
I R 112 =1910
I R 113 = 1912
I R 142 1907
Thanks

Hi Steve,
the NCO wears two medal ribbons - probably to the Iron Cross 2nd Class and below the ribbon to the Medal of Merit Princely House Order of Hohenzollern and this was only awarded to soldiers from the FR40. And in 1913, the 11th Company of the FR40 won the Kaiserabzeichen.

So I think that the NCO (in the middle) is probably from the Fusilier Regiment Prince Karl-Anton of Hohenzollern (Hohenzollernsches) No. 40 !?
; - > Best regards, Jens

p.s.: the other two soldiers are probably from another unit!?!

Grenadier Regt 9
Here are the 4 Fahnentrager of G R 9
They hold the 4 flags that are very tattered
This was just before the new flags were to be issued to the poles .
Except for the IV Batl who has their new flag
We note that the one Fahnentrager 2nd from the left
has his arm in a position so that we see that he wears his
Fahnentrager patch and below it is a Kaiser prize
Grenadier Regt 9 only won the Kaiser prize two times
both by the 1 Kp in 1897 and 1907
so the soldiers are L to R
FB ( black belt and my flag pole with 1870 Iron Cross pole top)
I B ( Kaiser Prize and the pole top is 1813 Iron Cross)
IV B ( new flag and a cypher pole top)
II B ( 1813 Iron Cross pole top)

and 1910 by 5 Kp
the photo was taken 1912
Next 14 soldiers of Kgl. Saxon 11 Inf Regt 139 / 9 Kp photo taken 1908
all 14 soldiers are wearing their Kings Prize they won in 1906 & 1907

Soldiers of the Saxon 2. Grenadier Regt 101 / 11 Kp
Some wear their Kings Prizes
G R 101 won the Kings Prize 3 years in a row
1911 ; 1912 & 1913
The card was postmarked Dresden 1913
Two boards are displayed. The top one reads 12 , for 1912 ?
the bottom one reads 245, not sure what that means
Maybe the shooting score ??

A mixture of soldiers that are on medical leave.
The soldier seated to the left is wearing a Kings Prize
on his Feldgrau uniform.
He and the soldier in the backrow are wearing shooting cords
which I have been told were not to be worn with the Feldgrau uniforms?

Steve:

I assume this must have been taken very early in the war given that the award was only to be worn for one year after its award.

So, sometime prior to October 1914?

Very good photos!

Steve,
officially, the wearing of insignia on the M15 Bluse was no longer permitted until September.
See AKO 21. Sept. 1915 - Point 11: https://archive.org/details/DeutschlandsArm00Oste/page/n17/mode/1up
Zur Bluse werden nicht getragen: a) die Abzeichen der Fahnen und Standartenträger, Schützenabzeichen, Kaiserabzeichen und Kaiserschiesspreise, ...
Great pictures, thanks for showing. Best regards, Jens

Bavarian Fahnentrager Inf. Regt. 21 / 3 Kp. One of my best photos .Studio pose.
Bavarian Fahnentrager ringkragen and Bavarian shooting cord.
He wears his Kings Prize above his Bavarian Fahnentrager patch.
BIR 21 / 3 Kp won the Kings Prize in 1900 and again in 1904
Some years ago, I had some great help with information about this soldier as follows ;
I've found him at ancestry.
Hans Fleuchaus, Feldwebel-Leutnant.
Born 1873 in Esselbach. Living in Nuremberg.
The award on the left breast is the medal for the China-campaign 1902.
This picture will dated after the Chinawar and before 1906. He don't wear the Jubileemedal, awarded to him 1905.
The rank on the picture is Sergeant 21. bavarian infantry regiment.

Great CDV Steve!!

I have a question for all..... Could someone have earned, and worn, the award for 3 consecutive years while being in 2 different units?

So the photo should be circa 1904
Steve

Thanks Jens!

I was considering buying this example....
Willi
This example was offered by Weitze. It was first seen on a Waffenrock for a 1 year volunteer of the KFGGR # 2 .
I almost bought the coat. I looked up GGR # 2 . They only on the Kaiser Prize one time in 1904 by 3 Kp.
So the prize did not belong on that coat. I questioned one of Weitze's man. They removed the coat from their site.
Then I found out that no unit won the Kaiser prize for those years. It appears to be a real one, but why was it made?
There is one more example just like it shown by a dealer in Arizona. Later, the prize was removed from the Waffenrock
and offered by Weitze at 600 Euro as you posted. It did sell. It would be worth having in a collection , just to ask why
but not at 600 Euro IMO .A three date Kaiser Prize, IMO that could be confirmed would be worth 600 Euro.
The GGR #2 Waffenrock was then offered less the 3 date Kaiser Prize. I had also questioned that a one year Volunteer
would have been in the unit for 3 years to win the prize .
Steve

Steve, that's my question; "why was it made?". Right now I have it on hold. Andreas is bringing me some other items to the Max Show, so I'm not sure I'll take it. Paying a little more is not a problem to me, given its rarity.

Willi,
Steve had already asked about this topic in the following post:
https://www.pickelhaubes.com/xf/threads/kfggr-2.19093/
Unfortunately, we can't clarify the questions.
;) Best regards, Jens

p.s.: "... The older insignia returned by the troops to the Clothing Section are to be reused as far as possible after repair and modification of the year, the unusable insignia are occasionally to be sold. The older insignia stored at the Ministry of War and can be collected there. ..."
