This one came to me today.

Thanks friends! IR 74 was one of 5 regiments who got to wear the single Waterloo banner on their helmets, so quite a rare helmet too.
Got it very cheap too, but it had no wappen on it, I had that one here at home. So now it is where it belongs, kokarden and chinstrap for it, I have those too. Original ones. :)

Very nice
No sin to build an original

And so it is Steve, there were 5 regiments who got to wear that single Waterloo banner, IR74, 77 and 78, and 164 and 165.
This helmet will become exactly as it should be. I paid only 500 euro's for it, but I saw the true history of it, the day I saw it for sale.
I will only put it again back in full shape as it should be, when it was issued, a lot of years earlier. (well over a century ago)

Coert, are you sure that´s the bottom stamp is JR74?

I think, I see RJR74 3B, that was deployed the 2.8.14 in Hannover.

Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 74 (+MG.-Kp.)

Aufgestellt in Nienburg (R.Stb., II.), Oldenburg (I.) und Hannover (III.)
Unterstellung: 19. Res.Div.
Kommandeur: Oberstleutnant Riebensahm (I.R.Nr. 74)
I.: Major Frhr. v. Schimmelmann (I.R.Nr. 91)
II.: Major Rust (Kriegsschule Hannover)
III.: Major v. Schreibershofen (I.R.Nr. 74)
Verluste: 83 Offz., ca. 3100 Uffz. und Mannschaften.

Reserve or Landwehr Infanterie Regiments stamps always show before or behind the unit, the bataillon number.

The first JR74 stamp can eventually be seen at the top, left of the date 1905.
To confirm...Or not....

Well, before the 1905 stamp is indeed IR74.
In fact, the helmet is complete now, with a set of original kokarden, which I bought from James quite a while ago.
As I am still on the lookout for an original chinstrap, I fitted an aged replica one for now.
