Well James, you know now that you probably have a beautiful M87 GR110 helmet there :bravo: (only LGR109 and GR110 were allowed to wear the Haarbusch).
And because a new helmet with white fittings was introduced 1885 for the LGR109.
But if this helmet really is a M71 reconverted into a M87, then you could also have here an old M71 LGR109 helmet that was converted in a new M87 GR110 helmet :wink:
Since 1867 and before 1885, both units, the first badisches JR (later LGR109) and the second badisches JR (later GR110) had brass fittings.
