French Foreign Legion Adrian helmet WW1

Post by Francobritishcollect » Sun Apr 21, 2019 1:20 pm

Dear All

A rather rare beast is this French Foreign Legion Adrian helmet M.15 with a proper configuration for use during the the last years of WW1.

Presumably for an officer due to its unusual chinstrap.

A rare colour too which I have tried to capture on that sunny Easter day.

Best

Alex

Another very rare helmet in excellent condition, congratulations. Alex, you may already know but we recommend photography on over cast days which eliminates shine and shadows.

Yes, you are absolutely right. Unfortunately, this one has been a difficult one because of the colour. I have tried overcast, cloudy, with rain and without, etc... None of the configurations actually managed to capture the real colour so I tried direct sunshine and, although it is admittedly not great, the result is the best thus far 😬

Colour does look good in those pics and I do not remember ever seeing a brown Adrian. Is this what designates Foreign Legion? I do not really know much about these helmets.
