    Naval Wound Badge

I hate myself because the day after I ordered this, the dealer listed a MINT gold example which I missed and was sold to someone else.

    Naval Wound Badge

Here’s a very nice piece I paid dearly for, but it was worth it as I have seen only a couple ones in better condition. Silver wound badge for naval personnel. These would’ve mostly gone to coastal troops considering the chances of being wounded multiple times on a U-boat or a surface vessel...

Just a nice and simple Luger

They always say in documentaries that the grip angle was perfect for shooters but I don’t get it. Shot the first 100 rounds one handed and couldn’t hit Jack at 10 yards. The moment I switched to a modern stance I hit dead center at 15 yards

Just a nice and simple Luger

Got this as a self birthday gift several months ago. Not several hours after turning 21 I made my way to the gun store to fill out the paperwork. It’s a 1918 DWM example with most of the bluing still there. Non matching magazine. Took it out for a spin and it shoots beautifully as expected.

    Help on Saxon Pickelhaube’s markings

Woah, thank you so much. If that’s the case then I misidentified the S as a J haha. As much as I wish your source matches my helmet, I don’t believe that’s my guy. The helmet I have is for an officer. There are no unteroffizier features on it. Again, thank you for the help

    Help on Saxon Pickelhaube’s markings

There’s also the size marking with some writing next to it as well. “56”, this needs to explanation. But “13 1/2”? This I’m not sure of. There’s some handwriting in old German script below it

    Help on Saxon Pickelhaube’s markings

Hi all, I recently purchased a beautiful Saxon officers (photos to come soon). When I examined it in person, what swayed me to buy it was the personal touch of some writing inside however I cannot for the life of me figure out what some of the writings mean. To my eyes it appears to be...

    Prussian Garde Ersatz M15

Came up with it one thanksgiving after squirting Sriracha on my Turkey and used it as a gaming username for years. I’ve actually tried to change the forum user to my real name but no admins have approved yet. I appreciate it, and had hoped for the background story when I posted this. I used...

Thank you! I am at a whopping two helmets so far. Next on the list is a Bavarian or Saxon. Whichever comes first

    Prussian Garde Ersatz M15

Hi all, this one came in the other month from a friend in the UK. Really happy with it and its solid condition I’m bad with forums and don’t know how to tag people, so if someone could please tag Tony Schnurr, that would be appreciated because I believe this was one of his and can be observed...

    Wound badges

No problem. And that is true, now try finding all three grades of the navy wound badge, AND their cut out versions. That would take us years to do. It’s on my list though

    Wound badges

There’s a term called “Hohlverbodet” which essentially refers to solid back wound badges (99% of imperial wound badges are hallow) and there are specific variants of the Hohlverbodet that were known to have been made prior to 1919. Though how to identify it is outside the realm of my wound badge...
