    109th Baden Regt

funny thing, I asked for close ups as well as where he got it from and pictures of the Wappen. Never got back to me either. Think it sold for a decent price though.

    M95 Baden Leib-Grenadier-Regt. Nr.109

It's amazing to even think that there are examples from this regiment still out there in as good condition as yours. I, too, would love to own one like this.

    One Pretty Expensive M1895 Chinstrap!

I honestly think that prices will continue to sky-rocket due to the 100th anniversary coming up in 1914. I really wish that I would have started collecting as a child, because I have dropped some serious dough in the last few years on stuff.

Did this seller break it up for parts?

This seems to be the same seller as the Baden M95 Pickelhaube that has been a recent topic of discussion that I just posted on.

    Baden Inf. EM M1895 Pickelhaube - 109th?

One thing that I noticed on the Pickelhaube that concerned me right off the back was Spike Base Mounts. They seem to be Brass or Gold colored and not Silver. Any thoughts? I thought that BLG 109 had all Silver parts on it? One other thing that I noticed was where the extra holes were. It...

WW1 Train Officer serving in Bagdad - uniform & documents

That is an amazing collection. When I was stationed in Iraq, I met a man in Baghdad that was living with his family who was a British Colonial WWII Vet. I will have to dig up the photo and post it if I can ever find out how to.

Baden Reserve Infantry Regiment 109 Wappen on Pickelhaube

Thanks for the info. If you come up with a scna of the photo, please let me know. The First and Second Battalions are what I am trying to figure out. My GreatGrandfather was in Kompanie 8 of RIR109 early int he war and then was a Machine Gunner in the MGK.

Baden Reserve Infantry Regiment 109 Wappen on Pickelhaube

I know that I and II Battalions wore the Litzen of Baden Leib Grenadier 109 Regiment and were allowed to wear the Crown on their schulterklappen. Did RIR 109's I and II Battalion's also wear the Wappen of BLG 109 on their Pickelhaube or just the regular Baden Griffin?

Thanks. Maybe its pre-WWI. Thanks. How does one post a picture? I can post a picture of the tunic.

Manfred von Hohenberg (Anybody ever hear of this guy?)

I have a great Dunkelblau tunic of this guy who served in Baden Leib-Grenadier 109 as a One-Year Volunteer. It also has Unteroffizier lacing on it. I have posted this name in some other forums. Just wondering if anybody has any information on him. Did he fight in the First World War, etc?

Is there something strange about the wappen?

I am no expert, but I am going out on a limb and state that the wappen is definitely not original to this pickelhaube. It would be nice to see the back of this wappen. That is jjust my two cents.
