    Trench art.

No, I can't believe it. What a pity to ruin such a beautiful helmet like this.

Wonderful collection. I love also the italian pioneer pith helmet and the bersaglieri "vaira" with the fabric cover.

Best find of the year so far!

Austria purchased from Germany a first supply of M17s that arrived in the feldgrau color and with the typical k91 attachment. The Austrians, to make them uniform and adapt them to their hemp chinstrap, produced this metal adapter with the hemp chinstrap. Very interesting. It could have been...

Well done Dane. Nowadays it's not easy at all to find the trio. You did it and how beautiful those barrel's medals you show us. Zeb

1880 5th WEALD OF KENT RIFLE VOLUNTEERS

Another one masterpiece of your outstandin collection. I particularly appreciate the wappen with the small prancing horse. Very nice looking

    Yes I love ersatz pichelhaube.

No, the left one is a standard M1895 with brass fittings that at the time has been overpainted in feldgrau. Looking carefully at the eagle, you can notice some brass-colored parts. Zeb

    Yes I love ersatz pichelhaube.

Yes, it is obviously a misunderstanding. I never intended to make you angry, I apologize if it happened inadvertently but I do not think it is necessary to continue discussing this topic.

    Yes I love ersatz pichelhaube.

I have always said that three is the perfect number.

    Yes I love ersatz pichelhaube.

Sorry but I disagree with you. You are wrong about the wire attachment of the wappen. I do not know of any pickelhaube model that originally came out with the wappen held by the wire wrapped around it. There are adlers fixed with pen-headed through screws. There are attachments of the most...

I'm glad you like the ersatz collection. Zeb

    Yes I love ersatz pichelhaube.

It is obvious that the original attachments have broken and a crude repair has been made with a metal wire. These repairs always raise suspicions in me and I stay away from these contraptions. Zeb

1888 4th VOLUNTEER BATTALION, THE ROYAL SCOTS HOME SERVICE HELMET

Another beautiful example of your remarkable collection. I really like volunteer regiments. I have two in my collection: the 38th Rifle Volunteer's Artist and the Eton Volunteers Rifle Corp which I have already shown in two different threads in this forum. Thanks for sharing. I am always amazed...
