    Hi Corey 65 Thanks , the ones with the high ears are dated (1907 -sawback leather scabbard ) 1915 - sawback steel scabbard ) The low ears are 1916 -1917- 1916

    Hi sandman , ok so private purchase All the fittings are held with square nuts with bowed loops . The helmet has that always been as it is look so I think I will leave as is and display . Maybe in the future When I gain more experience I will re appraise it when I put a collection together ...

    Hi sandman Many thanks for your message , I measured the front plate as you said and it is 11.5 cm , I am not sure what a property helmet means 🤔 , the mounts appear to have had a gilt finish , I will post a few more photos in daylight Thanks again Gary

    Thanks James , the helmet has just 1 large cockade with silver inset , the Wappen and cross base are held with looped nuts , would this be officers or other ranks , should I clean it or leave as is . Thanks again

    Hi fellow collectors Although not a helmet collector I recently acquired this helmet along with a ww1 stahlhelm in a trade , the previous owner stated it was a pre ww1 helmet , possibly franco Prussian period . I will appreciate your comments 👍
